LOCAL BUTCHER CELEBRATES THE 10TH BRITISH SAUSAGE WEEK WITH A SIZZLING SAUSAGE TASTING

mark British Sausage Weeks 10th Birthday – local butcher McWhinneys
of the Square, Comber (www.mcwhinneys.com)
will be offering customers a chance to taste a tempting variety of succulent
sausages on Saturday 20 October at St. Georges Market, Belfast. Pork,
Pork and Leek as well as Beef Sausages will all be on offer and is made
from meat sourced within Northern Ireland.
Sausage week 2007 runs from 15-21 October and is biggest celebration of the British and Irish Sausages. This week is supported by top celebrity sausage-lover, Phil Tufnel and the Sausage week mascot, Mr. Sausage. They will stop off in 10 cities sampling the countries finest sausages in a bid to find the Best Birthday Banger.
As well as Sausage tasting at St. Georges Market, McWhinneys will also have stickers and Mr. Sausage colouring in pages for the kids. ‘This years Sausage week is raising money for Cystic Fibrosis Trust’ says Mrs. Evelyn McWhinney. ‘We are delighted to be involved and hope the public can help us reach our 100 pound target’.
