Press Release March 2008: McWhinneys move into
new manufacturing unit at FBIC
Michael McWhinneys receives keys from Mrs. Freda McKibbin
manager of the Food Business Incubation Centre(FBIC), Loughry Campus,
Cookstown for the use of one of their new EC approved manufacturing
units.

Michael says "Setting up your own food business is expensive
and complex. One of the biggest challenges is finding premises suitable
for food manufacture and fitting these out to meet the exacting legislative
requirements of today's marketplace and that also meet our own high
standards. At FBIC the units do not just meet these standards but also
allow the use of expensive packing and freezing equipment as well as
providing conference facilities to meet with new clients. The staff
at FBIC have been extremely helpful to us and I am delighted to be manufacturing
here. I had turned down offers of other units and waited for this one,
it was definitely worth the wait. I am very grateful to Mr. Peter Simpson,
Mrs. Freda McKibbin and Aidan Fox of Loughry for their assistance and
advice.'
The hand made premium sausages of 'McWhinneys Of The Square
Comber' are now made at: Unit 8, FBIC (CAFRE) 45 Tullywiggin Road Cookstown
