Our secret chef is so high profile and so famous his identity must be protected. In fact some say he is more famous than the Stig.

McWhinney's Taditional Irish Pork Sausage and Potato Bake

Ingredients:

900g potatoes, peeled and sliced
250g McWhinneys Traditional Irish Pork Sausages
2 onions, peeled and sliced into rings
1 (400g) tin chopped tomatoes
Ground black pepper
Butter
½ teaspoon chilli flakes (optional)

Preparation method:

  1. Preheat oven to 180c/gas 4 and grease a casserole dish.
  2. Line bottom and sides of dish with potatoes. Lay half the sausages (cut sausages in half lengthways if they're big) on top, then onions, then cover with half a tin of tomatoes and chilli flakes (optional). Season with pepper. Place another layer of potato slices, sausages and onion over this and add remaining tomatoes and season once again with pepper. Cover with thin layer of potato slices, dot with butter and place in oven.
  3. Bake in preheated oven for one hour, or until potato topping is well browned.
  4. Serve topped with grated cheese.
