Our secret chef is so high profile and so famous his identity must be protected. In fact some say he is more famous than the Stig.

McWhinneys Traditional Irish Pork Sausage and Vegetable Penne

Ingredients:

6 McWhinneys Traditional Pork Sausages
1 large onion, chopped
1 red pepper, seeded and diced
1 green pepper, seeded and diced
75g fresh mushrooms, thickly sliced
450g penne pasta
125ml Italian salad dressing
4 table spoons grated parmesan for topping

Preparation method:

  1. Bring a large pot of water to the boil. Add penne pasta and cook until tender, about 10 minutes. Drain.
  2. Place the McWhinneys Traditional Irish Pork Sausages in a frying pan over medium heat. Cook, turning occasionally until firm and cooked through.
  3. Meanwhile, in a separate larger frying pan, combine the red and green peppers, mushroom and Italian dressing. Cook and stir until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes.
  4. Slice the McWhinneys Traditional Irish Pork Sausage and stir into the vegetables. Continue to cook and stir for another 5 minutes.
  5. To serve, place servings of pasta onto plate. Top with the McWhinneys Traditional Irish Pork Sausage and vegetable mixture. Sprinkle liberally with parmesan cheese.
